Newman’s at the Forbidden Love Teenage Workshop

At Newman’s, we believe that the energy of our youth is the foundation for our country’s future. However, that energy needs the right guidance and support to flourish.

On Friday, 27th March, we were proud to partner with The Marriage Anchor and The Garden of Eden TV Show for the Forbidden Love Teenage Workshop held at Scoris International School, Kibuli.

The theme of the day—Equipping Teenagers with Psychosocial support needed to make informed relationship decisions—is a cause we felt deeply connected to.

The workshop provided a safe space for teenagers to navigate the complexities of growing up in a digital age. The sessions covered vital topics including:

  • Healthy Boundaries: An introduction to dating and expectations.
  • Peer Influence & Social Media: Building the confidence to stay true to oneself.
  • Emotional Expression: Learning to communicate feelings effectively.
  • AI & Relationships: Understanding the role of chatbots in today’s world.

By supporting these discussions, we aim to help young people move from feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or pressure to becoming confident architects of their own lives.

A workshop dedicated to mental health and psychosocial support for young people is a priceless investment for the future. Newman’s was on-site as a partner, providing the snacks needed to keep the participants energized and engaged throughout the day’s intensive sessions.

Seeing the youth connect, share, and commit to choosing abstinence or making healthier relationship choices reminded us that being a snack companion of choice extends beyond just making quality snacks—it’s about supporting the values that build a stronger community.

We thank the organizers, including host Prossy Buyondo, for inviting us to be part of this transformative day. We are glad to support initiatives that empower the next generation to lead with purpose and integrity.

Whether in the classroom or out in the world, we salute the young people making informed decisions for their future!
