On April 17th, at the prestigious Mbale Resort Hotel, we stood alongside the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) and distinguished guests to officially launch the Eastern Regional Trade Fair 2026.

The launch was graced by the presence and wisdom of His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, the Umukhukha III. As the cultural leader of the Inzu ya Masaba addressed the room, his words underscored a vital truth: that the growth of the Eastern region is rooted in the unity of its people and the strength of its local industries.

For Newman’s, being in the presence of the Umukhukha was a reminder of the heritage that fuels our innovation. We believe that to truly conquer the global market, we must first honor and uplift the local communities that provide the very agricultural abundance we transform into world-class snacks.

Scheduled to run from June 5th to June 15th, this year’s Trade Fair will transform the Mbale Secondary School playground into a hub of made in Uganda excellence. This isn’t just an exhibition for us; it is a commitment to the Global Excellence we promise every Ugandan.
