At Newman’s, our passion goes beyond creating Uganda’s favorite snacks. While we are proud of our high-quality products, we are even prouder of the community we serve and belong to. A community defined by its rich diversity, strength, and unity.
This spirit of sharing and inclusion was at the heart of this moment captured in the photo above where we reached out to the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is a special time for reflection, devotion, and—most importantly—giving back. As a deeply rooted Ugandan company, we believe in supporting all segments of our society, recognizing that our national growth is strongest when every community thrives.
The image of the Newman’s Bags of Goodness being given to Muslim leaders beautifully captures this sentiment. It was an honor to contribute our products to aid in the breaking of the fast (Iftar) and to show our respect and solidarity during this important observance. This effort underscores a core principle: inclusivity is not just a policy; it’s an action.
Our commitment to inclusivity is evident across our entire value chain, from the farms to the shelves; we actively work with diverse local farmers to source ingredients like maize and peanuts, ensuring that economic opportunities reach various regions and demographics.
Our initiatives to create work opportunities for youth in the horticultural value chain are designed to be non-discriminatory, empowering the next generation of Ugandans, regardless of background.
Ultimately, our products—from the crunchy goodness of our Salted Maize Snacks to our smooth, creamy Peanut Butter—are made to be enjoyed by every Ugandan family, reflecting the unity and shared heritage we all celebrate.
By participating in community events like this Ramadan give-back, we reaffirm our dedication to being a company that is truly Made in Uganda, for all of Uganda. We stand with every community that makes up the vibrant tapestry of our nation.
