The YES Centre in Nsambya was the place to be this Independence Day! As early as midday, the stadium was bustling. The sound of music and the roar of arriving fans signaled that the final showdown of the exhilarating Kanta Football Tournament was about to begin.

After weeks of intense competition, the final pitted two proven powerhouses against each other: Real Stars FC, clad in their distinctive Newman’s branded black jerseys, faced off against Mayanja FC, in equally striking Newman’s branded light blue. The stage was set for pure football drama.

As thousands of fans poured in, the Newman’s Tent was ready for action. It’s often said that spectators burn as much energy as the players with their non-stop shouting, cheering, and analyzing! We were proud to be there, providing the favorite Newman’s snacks to give the crowd the fuel they needed for the final’s 90-minute intensity.

At 4pm, the referee blew the whistle, and the intense minutes of pure football began. Both defenses held firm through a goalless first half, sending the tension soaring into the second.

As the clock ticked past the 80th minute, with fans resigning themselves to a penalty shootout, everything changed.

Just outside the box, Real Stars FC’s Seruyide Moses stepped up to deliver a tantalizing free kick. It was a perfect strike that curled straight into the back of the net! Absolutely thrilling! The stadium erupted in pure celebration. It’s no wonder that Seruyide Moses’s spectacular effort cemented his status as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP)! The victory was secured with that single, stunning goal.

We are incredibly glad to be a part of the Kanta Football Tournament and the energy it brings to the community. A massive congratulations to Real Stars FC for their well-deserved victory!
